Project Opal: A Huge Success!
We really are, as a school, noticing how beneficial OPAL is - in its inclusivity, creativity and sense of fun.
Thanks to the efforts from our parents, carers, children and staff, we have completely changed our outdoor offering to include a sand pit, mud kitchen, music wall, a stage, dens...and so much more. We can't wait to unveil these new activities to the school later on today... The children have thoroughly relished our new approach to play, and it has been wonderful to see them wrapped in tyres, up trees, creating new games - and interacting with each other in such a positive way.
As we enter our third week of OPAL, we are incredibly happy with the range of play we are witnessing on the field and on the playgrounds. During playtime today, we saw a year 6 and year 3 digging and collecting worms together; year 5 children carrying toy babies around the playground; and year 1 and 2 delving into the fancy dress within the roleplay shed. OPAL has truly allowed children to express themselves and get hands on with their playtimes. Well done everyone!
